Hi!
I'm intending to adopt/purhcase a rabbit and would like to seek your advise.
I came across the pet farm, Ericsson pet farm and as I was browsing the web, I found some bad reviews about them. Based on your opinions, do you think they are reliable?
Will they sell their bunnies at a young age?

I also came across another website, Bunnies Hut (http://bunnieshut.blogspot.sg)
Their sales policy state that
- BH bunnies are only available for viewing and reservation at the age of 3 weeks
- BH bunnies will only be release to buyers from 4th week onwards

This actually made me worried as I understand that baby bunnies should only be for sale at 8th week onwards, after they are properly weaned.. If sold at too early, they may have health issues later on and might even die..

Do you guys know where I can purchase bunnies from apart from RHQ and Moomoopets?

Thank you!

Hi oddtree,

I can see you've done research before committing to getting a pet which I find very commendable. :)

As you might have realised, a lot of these so called breeders do not actually know very much about the animals they use as their money-making machines do they? Which is surprising seeing as these are supposed to be people who are the most knowledgeable. These are what are termed unethical and irresponsible backyard breeders and it's always recommended to stay far away from them. You wouldn't want to support a trade that uses animals to fill someone's deep pocket. Doing your own research is extremely important because then you can easily recognise which are the good and which are the rubbish breeders.

You probably noticed the picture of the rabbit in the cage with a wire base. That in itself speaks loads about the breeder's knowledge of bunnies. Wire bases are so awful for the feet how can any good breeder possibly condone it's use. >=(

If your open to adoption, I would strongly suggest getting from the spca or the house rabbit society (hrss). There are currently 50 buns being fostered by hrss volunteers and 7 waiting for adoption at the spca. Links to these adoption galleries below:

Hi,
Thank you for your reply :D
Yes, I agree it is so difficult to find ethical and reliable breeders.
Singapore should do more to protect animals, we as citizens can only do so much..

I will consider adopting one if I can't find any. Thank you!
