Shetlands are a breed that is very rarely found for adoption. Much less a puppy. I myself tried very hard and waited and waited but not one appeared. 10year old cannot walk those kind also no one wanna give up. But also can take as very good news that none are abandoned hor =)

Is there any other breed that you would be interested in? But I'd advise you not to set your sights too high i.e. aiming for a puppy only, because that would be very unrealistic unless you are talking about mongrel puppies. You can understand la. In kiasu money-is-everything Singapore who would be giving away free pedigreed puppies? Unless there was something wrong with it.

idk lex.. I realize that it would a perfect dog to me.. (ok, most probably to everyone)
Mongrel cant be kept in HDB flats and I scared I would over exhaust it :x if I bring it for walk everyday.. @@
Other breed uh.. Either a Hybrid husky, silky cross maltese or maybe a westie..
But.. They are so hard to search!

What's a hybrid husky? Westie not many also. Cross breeds always turn out differently each time so I dunno how to see haha.

Lol.. You mean Alaskan Klee Kai ah..
Beware ah, they may resemble a Siberian Husky in looks but that's where the similarities end. They are not mini huskies. They have completely different characteristics.

A siberian is a naturally happy friendly outgoing dog that usually loves all people. A klee kai is the exact opposite. They are naturally shy and reserved with strangers. Not saying that every single klee kai is 100% cannot be outgoing but they have to be socialised at every opportunity in order to ensure that they become confident and comfortable with strangers coming up to pet or touch them otherwise you might end up with a painfully shy and fearful dog or worse an aggressive one.

Plus side is they are usually very clean dogs and don't often have an odour but they have quite a high energy drive. They are very intelligent but that intelligence can also backfire on you if you can't keep their minds occupied with enough to do. This means they get bored easily and might likely destroy furniture by chewing and digging just so they can have something to do.

High prey drive is also something to take note of. If they see something small and fast moving they will go into hunting mode, chase and kill it. They are quick to defend their family if they think that they are in any danger so they make good guard dogs. All in all, they need a firm and proactive owner in order to do well.
